Strontium Dog
Strontium Dog is a long-running British comics series starring Johnny Alpha, a mutant bounty hunter who lives in Earth's future. The series was created in 1978 by writer John Wagner (under the pseudonym T. B. Grover) and artist Carlos Ezquerra for Starlord, a short-lived weekly science fiction comic. When Starlord was cancelled, the series transferred to the British science fiction weekly 2000 AD. In 1980, Wagner was joined by co-writer Alan Grant, although scripts were normally credited to Grant alone. Grant wrote the series by himself from 1988 to 1990. Wagner revived the series after a ten-year hiatus in 2000. After Ezquerra's death in October 2018, the series was put in indefinite hiatus with no current plans for its continuation
Search and Destroy Agents
The Torso of Newcastle
George Moore, alias The Torso from Newcastle, was (along with Middenface McNulty, Johnny Alpha, Clacton Fuzz, Studs Boyce and Evans the Fist) one of the leaders of the Mutant Army, which rose up in protest at Nelson Bunker Kreelman's anti-mutant policies in 2167 AD. He later became a search/destroy agent (or 'Strontium Dog'), a mutant bounty hunter, and helped Johnny bring the mutant terrorist William Blood Moon to justice. Torso (as his friends called him) was killed by the Stix Brothers while aiding Johnny Alpha against Kreelman when the villain returned and took control of the Search/Destroy Agency.
General Armz - Mutant Liberation Army
General Armz was a crucial leader in the Mutant Liberation Army, fighting against the Kreelers in well-coordinated attacks. He became a father figure for young mutant Johnny Alpha after he had fled from his real father, Nelson Bunker Kreelman, the anti-mutant bigot who led the Keelers.
Kid Knee
Kid Knee was a Strontium Dog, a mutant bounty hunter. Once good at his job, he lost the plot when he started drinking heavily. He died while tracking down the criminal known as The Mutator in partnership with Johnny Alpha and Wulf Sternhammer. He was survived by his son, who had an identical mutation and was also called Kid Knee.
Verun, aka the Bear
Vervun was once a happy trader from Sarvis R7T3, a peaceful world known for its sweet and viscous substance made by flying insects. Returning from a long haul with his crew, Vervun was shocked to discover his world all but empty, spare a few shell-shocked survivors. During Vervun's run, a human slaver ship attacked Sarvis R7T3, enslaving the natives and disappearing into deep space. Vowing to find his people, Vervun and his crew became hired mercs and now search for their people amongst the stars. Following a recent job, Vervun has found proof of a fellow survivor living in Sector 102 of Mega City One, in an area known as the Swamps. Looks like it is time for a rescue mission!
