Citizens of Sector 102

This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are - Plato.

Meet the Citizens of Sector 102

Murdin Eyclone - The Wannabe Recidivist.

Murdin Eyclone was a failed wanna-be criminal. He failed to shoplift the newest Kneepad, he failed to J-walk, and he even failed at not returning his Vid-slugs. The pressure of his inability to become a criminal changed one day after witnessing a caretaker droid illegally crossing the overpass. If a droid could break the law, why couldn't he? Something had finally snapped inside Murdin, and he turned Futsies. Racing home, he grabbed his meat tenderizer and started a rampage through the lower levels of the Dan Abnett Block. Unfortunately, one of his earlier victims was a member of the Blood Pact who had recently painted their spit pistol to look like a drill in the hopes of not getting stopped by a Judge. Grabbing what he believed to be a power tool, Murdin roamed the hallways "fixing" residents before being finally stopped by the Judges.

Gideon Ravenor - Dan Abnett Block Citizen - aka the Crock Peeper.

Ravenor has seen it all, Necropolis, Narcos, Robot Wars and Chaos Day. In his younger days, he was a member of the Blue Blood Citi-def and ran the admin. But now, as an older man, he is bound to his chair and spends most of his time peeping on the block. Whenever he hears or sees something important, he reaches out to his contacts in the Blue Bloods. This has led to some friction with his neighbours and caused Ravenor to become more isolated and sneaky.

But his isolation (or maybe the back radiation?) has led to Ravenor developing some low-key psi abilities. People have started to notice he seems to know what they are thinking or that he can always reach the top shelf in the Mart, even chair-bound. Then there was the Blood Pact Juve spray painting Ravenor’s door, who, after shouting at Ravenor, somehow managed to trip, slide 30 ft and fall the stairwell.

Looks like the Judges need to keep an eye on this Crock!

Wendy Go

++ Sector House 102 Emergency Call ++

++ Subject: Wendy Go ++

"To any available Judges within the Dan Abnett block region. Reported Futsie down at the Happy Noodle Store at the intersection of Victoria Hayward and Justin Woolley Megways. Futsie is armed and dangerous, believed to have multiple wounded on scene. Medics are inbound."-Control.

++ Accessing File ++

Background: Wendy Go, like many of the citizens from Dan Abnett Block, was full-time unemployed. Her daily trip to the Happy Noodle to enjoy the Lunch Munce Special was the only thing keeping her sane. That all changed one day when she found out it had been removed because it contained authentic egg noodles. This was enough for Wendy Go to flip over the edge. Finally, the pressures of life in the City of the Future proved too much for her, and Wendy Go flipped into a psychosis where everyone else was now the enemy. Wendy Go managed to kill three employees of Happy Noodle, two juves and a Fattie before being subdued by Judge Prince, who was first on to the scene—currently serving time in a psycho cube.

Ma Parkkin - Cat Lady

Ma Parkkin, the local block Cat Lady - How she keeps finding these cats is a true mystery, and even though she is raided regularly, they just keep appearing. She hasn't been arrested yet because of the aid she gives to the Justice Department, as Pest Control knows exactly where to go once a month to collect all the strays.

Overall, an uptight and aggressive older woman, Ma Parkkin is avoided by most blockers and lives quite a simple and quiet life.

Angles McManus - Shuggy Hall Owner

Hailing from Cal-Hab, Angles rose through the Shuggy Halls of the Northern Wastes. After becoming professional, Angles traveled to Brit-Cit and climbed the World Rankings. His career highlight (as he reached retirement) came when Angles faced off against Max Normal in the Hondo Open Finals. Angles lost, but with the runners-up winnings, he retired and bought a Shuggy Hall in Sector 102. With 'Angles' open, the new Shuggy Hall started attracting all the big names, including Max Normal, who has, over the years, become firm friends with Angles McManus.

Norvic Stranger - The Pirate

Norvic Stranger was once an unremarkable citizen of Mega-City One. However, after years of drudgery and a growing sense of disenchantment with the oppressive society around him, he experienced a mid-life crisis. One fateful day, inspired by an old holovid about the Golden Age of Piracy, Norvic decided to abandon his mundane life. Embracing a flamboyant persona, he now roams the streets of Mega-City One, seeking adventure and freedom as a self-proclaimed pirate.

Norvic has adorned himself with a tattered pirate coat, a wide-brimmed hat, and an assortment of makeshift weapons that he whimsically refers to as his "pirate arsenal." Though he often appears ridiculous, he has garnered a small following of like-minded misfits and delinquents who are captivated by his charisma and tales of high-seas adventure—albeit in the concrete jungles of Mega-City One.

With his humorous, self-drawn map of his favourite "treasure spots" (like fast-food joints and arcades). Norvic can be found leading grand "pirate raids" on a corporate building, all in the name of freedom, food and adventure.

Sector 102 - Cosplayers - Simps

Zael Efernetti - Mr. D’Eath Impersonator

Zael Efernetti is the last Sector 102 Cosplayers Guild member and is viewed as an outsider by the genuine members. Zael wasn't amongst the members who witnessed the three Dark Judges on Chaos Day; he, like Judge Death, wasn't even near breakout during those fateful days.

Zael's story begins with the Holiday Macabre Company and his acting time. Zael landed a job for a few months in Mrs. Gunderson's apartment as Mr. De'Ath; it felt like he had it all. Zael enjoyed scaring the guests and took great satisfaction from causing some weaker souls to pass over. This ultimately led to him being rotated out for "issues." Unfortunately, those issues never went away, and following the destruction of his home during the Chaos Day fighting, Zael wandered the streets dressed as De'Ath. Scaring people into believing he was the real Dark Judge, he was able to salvage supplies as he walked the Mega-City. Then one day, down by the Docks of Sector 102, he discovered the Cosplay Guild and just started to follow them. Soon the guild grew tired of chasing him off, and Zael's creepy ways were just accepted.

Around this time, the group went quiet, locking themselves away and rarely being seen without their costumes. Had something followed Zael to Sector 102?

Wystan Frauke - Judge Fire Impersonator

Wystan Frauka of the Sector 102 Cosplayers Guild.

When not cosplaying, Wystan Frauka hangs around the Dan Abnett Block Smokatorium. His unhealthy habit would usually leave his costumes stinky to the disapproval of his fellow guild members. This led to a growing rage within Wystan, and on the fateful Chaos Day following a heated verbal exchange, it would be Wystan's fault the group ended up near the Dark Judges.

Having chased Wystan, the group ended up too close to the fearsome three, ultimately changing all their lives forever. Quick to anger, Wystan is the first to mouth off to would-be bullies and is usually guaranteed a punch to the face. Though it rarely seems to bother him, hot to the touch, and always sweaty, it is now rare to see Wystan or any guild member out of their costumes these days.

What are they up to?

Carl Thonius - Judge Mortis Impersonator

Like his friend Titus, Carl had enjoyed dressing up for the longest time, typically selecting his favourite Tri-Vid trivia host as the subject of his costumes. Carl is well-known within his group for his technical skill, whether it is the perfect amount of hairspray, designing the correct pattern or specialized lighting; Carl is the man to get the job done. Unfortunately, following an unlucky encounter, the group's demeanour changed. Gone was the carefree group of Juves spending a Saturday night gluing and designing new clothes. Instead, all their passion is now focused on recreating the look and feel of the Dark Judges.

Now weird smoke lingers at their shared apartment door, strange noises echo at night, and no one has seen the parents of the juves in months. When one of the cosplayers appears in public, it is now entirely in costume. This has led to issues with the Justice Department as the general public panicked at seeing them. Also, the local gang, the "Blood Packers," enjoy a bit of bullying whenever they can. The weird thing is that no matter how much of a beating they take, they return fully recovered.

Titus Endor - Judge Fear Impersonator

Titus Endor of the Sector 102 Cosplayers Guild. Titus and his friends, for the longest time, have enjoyed dressing up, typically selecting their favourite Tri-Vid stars. Many late nights have been enjoyed with glue sticks and plasticard recreating their online heroes. But following a chance encounter during Chaos Day, this all changed. The group witnessed the escape of the Dark Judges, and since then, their group has turned dark. Neighbours complain of weird noises and smell at night, a strange chill creeping from under the door, and when the group appears in public, it is always fully dressed in their cosplay.

This has led to issues with the Justice Department as the general public panicked at seeing them. Also, the local gang, the "Blood Packers," enjoy a bit of bullying whenever they can. The weird thing is that no matter how much of a beating they take, they return fully recovered.

Serial Killers

Myzard the Clown

One such Buffooner is Myzard, who joined the Clown Cult hoping to spice up his life. Myzard soon discovered that he much preferred to bring out terror in people than joy. Coming across other like-minded members, he soon found himself inducted into the "Buffooners" and, with much glee, committed criminal damage on the local Block Library. It unfortunately didn't take long for him to progress to assault, and one evening, Myzard took it a step too far by committing murder. Now, with a taste for blood, Myzard stalks the lower levels of the Dan Abnett block, looking for laughs.

Urban legends of evil clown sightings throughout Sector 102 have become more common. These "phantom clowns" have been accused of multiple crimes, from petty theft to kidnapping and murder. Clown panic has spread throughout the sector, which has led to the Justice Department forming a task force to seek out the truth. It turns out there is a growing cult of clowns forming in Sector 102. It is made up of the oppressed and forgotten members of block society. They secretly meet in the swamps and use the flooded warehouses as a practice stage for their art. Unfortunately, like many cults, they have started to attract the "wrong" sort, and an aggressive sub-sect of "Buffooners" has appeared.

Chapman Pincher

++ Attention all Judges ++

++ Chapman Pincher the Ghoul seen near the waterfront of Sector 102. Approach with caution wanted in connection with brutal murders and links to cannibalism ++

Not much is known about Chapman Pincher or his past. This could be down to two reasons.

1) Chapman is an illegal immigrant from the Cursed Earth, possibly sneaking in on a boat through the lower city waterfronts. However, the lack of noticeable genetic mutation suggests it's not this.

2) Chapman is from the Undercity, which is possibly more likely due to his preference for nighttime killings. Some suggest he escaped during the Block Wars, fled to the Undercity, was still inflicted with Block Mania, and has finally returned (ref. Chapman Pincher Block).

Wherever he is from, Chapman is in trouble—first spotted by spy cameras, looting victims’ bodies following the last Swamp Skunks gang fight. It is possible Chapman was just taking the opportunity of the violence, or maybe he's a perp for hire. Either way, Chapman has since gone on to murder and rob five more perps and citizens. Worst yet, he seems to be eating the ears of victims. Extremely dangerous and unhinged, Chapman is to be approached with extreme caution.

Infamous Characters of Sector 102

Orlock the Assassin

Orlok was born in East-Meg One, the Russian counterpart to Mega-City One; his parents gave him to the state at age four, where he was trained to fight and conditioned to be a loyal instrument of his country.

Every year of his childhood, he and the other children would be locked in Gulags; each Gulag had 100 children but only enough food for 50; this way, only the strongest and most promising children would survive and grow to adulthood, proving themselves worthy to serve their country.

When Orlok is first introduced, he is already an experienced, highly competent, and well-respected Judge in East Meg One. He is personally put in charge of the first stage of the Apocalypse War (East Meg One's plan to take control of Mega-City One), spreading the Block Mania contaminant.

Karl Raider

Karl Raider was a vigilante ex-judge who lived in City Bottom.

Raider graduated from the Academy of Law as a Judge in 2079, the same graduating class as Joe and Rico Dredd. He was the only Judge that year even to come close to equalling the clone brothers on marksmanship.

In 2099, Raider fell in love with a citizen named Carol. He decided to leave the Justice Department and become a citizen. During the Apocalypse War, Carol became infected with radiation, and Raider chose to end her life to spare her pain. By 2114, Raider was now a vigilante dealing out his version of justice to criminals in City Bottom. After attacking Murk Derryson's mob, Raider comes to the attention of Judge Dredd. Judge Dredd ultimately kills Karl Raider.

Barry McGuffin the T-800

Barry McGuffin is a self-aware T-800 Terminator with a Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 Infiltrator outer sheath, who was sent from an alternate future to kill John Connor by Skynet. Having arrived in Mega-City One, Barry has discovered his connection to Skynet wholly broken and no longer seeks to kill John Connor (a boy who works in the Kidney Hut of Dan Abnett Block). Finding itself without purpose, Barry McGuffin has become a vigilante and wanders Sector 102, seeking out wrongdoings in the hope of finding a new role for itself.

Max Normal - The Pinstripe Freak

Max Normal was one of Judge Dredd's premier informants in the 2090s through to the 2100s and has still encountered him occasionally. His connections to Dredd were well known in the underworld for years (partly from Normal mentioning it while drunk), but the fear of Dredd coming after them protected him from reprisal.

One of the more famous people in the Normals Fad - weirdos who dress in staid, conservative clothing - he used to be known as "the pinstripe freak", and Dredd in 2099 found his look grotesque and confusing. While this was a prominent youth fad in the 2080s and 2090s, he's stuck with it into old age. His voice is pure cool, smooth, silky, deeply resonant.

Mad Ma Mahaffy and Brainbloom

Mad Ma Mahaffy and Brainbloom are officially dead in the current timeline. RIP!

Oola Blint - The Angel of Mercy

Oola Blint was a seemingly pleasant and well-adjusted resident of Mega-City One who, over several years and most often with the assistance of her weak-willed husband Homer Blint, carried out a killing spree which would have put the most notorious serial killers in history to shame, with their preferred method being to incapacitate their victims with gas before administering a lethal injection.

Homer Blint

Homer assisted his wife, Oola Blint, who is a serial killer called 'The Angel of Mercy' (or sometimes 'The Euthanasia Killer').

Together, they travelled between apartment blocks, poisoning the tenants and leaving their bodies for the Judges to find (in the pose of final rest, holding a red rose).

Judge Dredd eventually tracked the couple down, and they are currently serving life in an ISO Cube for their crimes.

Novar

Novar was a child born with incredible psychic abilities. Shortly after he was born, his father died, and his crazed mother raised him.

In his early teens, he came across Judge Dredd and his group during the early stages of their trek across the Cursed Earth towards Mega-City Two, shortly after their run-in with Brother Morgan and his Mutant Brotherhood. Spikes Harvey Rotten found him by his home making a tree sculpture from scrap metal not long after the Mutant Brotherhood attack from all sides. After one of Judge Dredd's fellow Judges was killed, Novar felt great emotion and using his powers, he blew apart the shards of the metal tree he made and forced the shards to stab many of the Brotherhood members and stabbed Morgar with his knife. Shortly after Judge Dredd and the others say goodbye to Novar, the child hints that one day they may meet again.

Businesses of Sector 102

Kidney Hut Vans

Kidney Hut Hover Vans are a common sight zipping around the streets of Sector 102. Many have claimed the Sector is the original store's location, though they are still determining where it began. With the Corporate Headquarters now built in the Sector, it is hard to be more than 5 minutes from a storefront, and their credits are undoubtedly helping to rebuild the damaged sector.

Mega-Cabs

A common sight on the streets of Mega-city One. The Mega Cab company is the go-to brand for citizens who must get across the Meg.

"Mega Cab is here to help you find the most dependable and convenient type of transportation in a taxi service available anytime and anywhere, 24 hours a day. Only fully trained and experienced droid drivers work with Mega Cab; no matter how far you need to go, we offer long-distance service."
