Citi-Def of Sector 102

The right to bare arms!

The members are part-time, and while there are dedicated professionals in the ranks, many 'weekend warriors' also signed up because they watched too many vid-slugs.

Their uniforms vary wildly from block to block (and artist to artist) and are presumably modified.

The idea of the Citi-Defs is that they will defend their blocks from disaster or attack and assist the Judges. In practice, the Citi-Defs are often inadequately trained, full of bored and belligerent citizens, and often cause problems: Citi-Defs has been involved in block wars, disastrous training exercises, secessions, and the like.

The Chief Judge only places them on active alert during emergencies for fear of what they might do otherwise. During Chaos Day, enraged Citi-Def units were a critical threat that drove the Judges out of sectors. Their most prominent positive role was in the Apocalypse War. Citi-Def soldiers fought bravely against the East Meg One invaders, working directly with the remnants of the Justice Department. They subsequently fought for the city during Judgement Day and in Nero Narcos' Second Robot War, and some loyalist groups helped the Judges secure blocks during Chaos Day.

My Def squads are from the Dan Abnett Block in Sector 102 and are known as the Bluebloods (named after a Gaunt's Ghosts regiment written by Abnett). They are incredibly proud and arrogant, believing themselves to be better than those around them, leading them on more than one occasion to take the law into their own hands. Created by the now self-titled Captain Sturm after discovering a copy of Blueblood, the squad has grown in power and resources and has influence over the Block Board, allowing them to control more of the Dan Abnett block.

Meet the Bluebloods

Captain Noches Sturm of the Blue Bloods

Arrogant beyond compare, Noches Sturm was your casual Citi-def member until one outing in the Undercity led to her discovering a damaged book titled Necropolis. Inside, she found what she believed to be a primer on how to run the Citi-def. Soon, she had ousted the ruling old guard and set herself in high command.

With Sturm entirely in control, the Citi-def has gone from strength to strength and is a common sight amongst the higher levels, operating routine patrols to watch for gang activities. This has led to open violence in the lower levels as the Def attempts to maintain law, while the Justice Department views them as no better than vigilantes.

Banzi Corday aka Boomer

Born into the Dan Abnett block's higher levels, Corday lived a privileged life and was soon recruited into the Blue Blood Citi-Def, who hoped to gain some additional funding through Corday's family. Unfortunately for everyone, the funding came in the form of a rocket launcher that Corday quickly claimed ownership of. So far, Corday and his rocket launcher remain untested, mainly through fear of collateral damage.

Danver Ruas

Not much is known about Danver; the Blue Bloods sniper is very much the cliche. A lone wolf, disgruntled at the world around him and the eater of Munce jerky, Danver can ping a rad roach at 500m. The other members view him with much hero worship. Rarely seen outside of meetings, all that is known is that Danver lives on the 54th floor, or at least that's what his records show.

Haight Solenhofen

Haight Solenhofen of the Dan Abnett Block Blue Bloods Citi-Def. Hailing from the 101st floor, the Solenhofen family is professionally unemployed. Mrs. Solenhofen spends most days cleaning the dishes and watching the tri-d while Haight Jr. hangs out at the local skysurfer school. This has left Mr. Solenhofen with a lot of free time, which has led him to join the Bluebloods. As their newest member, it has fallen on him to be the team's baggage handler, a role he has embraced with much pride.
