Terrain-Making Brainstorm: Bridges, Graveyards & Alien Zoos!

Lately, I’ve been itching to dive back into terrain-making. No solid plan yet, but some comic book inspiration has me thinking in new directions. Here’s what’s bouncing around in my head:

1. Bridges & Vertical Terrain

The first couple of images I found feature bridges, and I love the idea of adding height to my boards. Space is always an issue, so building upward intrigues me. A bridge could create dynamic movement, forcing tactical decisions. But how do foot models get up to it.

2. The Graveyard – A Rare Sight in MC-1

Mega-City One doesn’t do graveyards—most citizens get recycled into food processors! But the occasional burial site could make for a unique green space on the tabletop. A small overgrown cemetery, filled with cracked tombstones and eerie statues, could work across multiple settings: a Druidic shrine for Slaine, or a bombed-out WWII resting place for Bolt Action.

3. Ape Town – Narrow Paths & Litter

This one’s more of a design mood board than an actual build plan. I love the tight alleyways, the grimy, cluttered streets—perfect for a sector in the Spillways of MC-1. Could be fun to explore in a scatter terrain set, with piles of junk, broken neon signs, and barrels of toxic sludge. Maybe overcrowd one section of the board to test it out.

4. The Alien Zoo – Chaos in Sector 102!

I can’t build a full alien zoo, but what if a single cage made its way to Sector 102? Maybe the Blood Pact want to set a dangerous creature free—just as the Fattie League arrives, ready to cook it up. Imagine a broken containment pod, strange alien bones, and a few panicked zookeepers caught in the middle.

Plenty of ideas to explore—time to start sketching! What would you build first?
