Audio Drama // 2000 AD Presents Death Trap by Big Finish Productions

With work being so busy this time of year, I sometimes struggle to find time to read. But there is always time to listen, whether in the shower, making lunches or walking to work. So, with that in mind, I open up my audiobooks for the next title to review. Lucky for me 2000 AD has produced loads of audio dramas, some even performed with the BBC which is pretty damn cool. So I choose 2000 AD presents Judge Dredd: Death Trap (produced by Big Finish Productions and written by David Bishop)

Fluff:

On the 15th anniversary of the Necropolis, Mega-city One's Judge Death is broken out of prison by a terrorist group, known as the Disciples of Death. Judge Dredd and his partner, Judge Amy Steel, must track down the alien killer before he repeats his mass murder spree.

Voice Actors:

  • Toby Longworth - Judge Dredd

  • Claire Buckfield - Amy Steel

  • Mark Gatiss - Judge Death

  • Regina Reagan - Enigma Smith

  • Jeremy James - Control

  • Julia Righton - Nigella Gaiman

  • Liza Ross - Mrs. Gunderson

Review

The straightforward tale contained popular characters like Judge Death, Mrs. Gunderson and Walter the Wobot. It also occurs in famous Mega-City 1 locations like Sylvia Plath Block and Tech 21, making listening enjoyable. The voice acting is excellent, especially Mark Gatiss as Judge Death, who is so good at all the Ssssss. The story is quick, and it's easy to follow while keeping your attention right up till the end. It felt like I was reading a comic strip in my head, with the added effect of my imagination providing the pictures! If you have a spare hour on the way to work or while painting, I highly recommend listening to these. The only problem now is finding or buying the rest! If you're interested in the full range, google Big Finish 2000 AD. There, you will find Judge Dredd and Strontium Dogs audiobooks, to name a few. Hopefully, I will find more soon!
